Ivan Cornejo concluded his Mirada Tour with a spectacular finale at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on October 13, 2024. This marked the end of a successful run of 26 shows across North America, further solidifying Cornejo's role as a rising star in the Mexican regional music scene. As one of the leading young artists in the modern sierreño genre—a subgenre of regional Mexican music that blends heartfelt lyrics with traditional instrumentation—Cornejo's tour stop at Acrisure Arena highlighted the venue's growing status as a hotspot for Latin music stars since its opening.
Cornejo’s growth as an artist was on full display, and the scale of his show’s production reflected his increasing status in the music industry. Fans packed the arena early, a testament to the anticipation surrounding the night, and were eager to catch Delilah, the special guest opener. Delilah charmed the audience, delivering a standout performance that included a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Selena Quintanilla with two of her songs. The arena erupted full of nostalgia singing the lyrics to some of Selena’s most iconic songs.
By 9 p.m., the arena lights dimmed, and music began to fill the space. The stage screens illuminated and gradually rose, revealing Ivan Cornejo standing at the center of the stage. The crowd erupted with one of the loudest roars of the night as Cornejo began performing “Sale Para Ser Feliz.” Throughout the performance, Cornejo’s deep connection with his fans was visible with multiple fans handing him flowers and gifts, gestures that he received with genuine appreciation and a smile.
In the middle of the set, Cornejo surprised fans by inviting Maria Zardoya, the Puerto Rican lead singer of the indie band The Marías, to join him on stage. Together, they performed a beautiful duet of “No One Noticed,” a special treat for the final night of the Mirada Tour that left the crowd in awe.
Cornejo closed the night with a powerful performance of some of his biggest hits, including “Donde Estas,” “Atencion,” and “La Curiosidad,” capping off an incredible night that perfectly captured his artistry and connection with his fans. It was a memorable finale for the Mirada Tour—a tour that not only showcased his musical talents but also marked a milestone in his career as one of the most exciting new voices in Latin music.
