Conriquez, Natanel Cano, & Oscar Maydon to name a few. While the B side featured more Raeggeton influenced tracks and tracks featuring rappers like Rich the Kid, Cardi B & Quavo. Showing a bit of the virality and versatility Peso Pluma has been bringing to the Latin music scene. With the massive success of Éxodo’s release, Peso Pluma announced that he would be heading on an Arena tour throughout the summer which would end later in the Fall.
With over 35 show dates announced, Peso Pluma brought the Éxodo Tour to the Pechanga Arena in San Diego on September 5th. The atmosphere upon arriving at the venue was vibrant and full of Latino culture. With vendors of all sorts blasting Mexican music, selling delicious food , selling Peso Pluma merch and offering photo opps for fans to celebrate this night of music at the Pechanga Arena. After minutes of waiting, anticipation went through the roof the moment the lights went dark. An intro passage began to play on the screen and then a dramatic classic piece of music started as Peso Pluma rose from underneath the stage in a large throne with a ski mask on. “La Durango” began to play and several of Peso Pluma’s backup dancers began storming the stage dressed in all black with masks that had glowing red eyes. The entire arena erupted in joy when the show finally started. Fireworks erupted in the background and Peso Pluma made his way down the catwalk finally taking off his ski mask revealing his face to the entire audience. This caused everyone to get hyped up by the crowd as he performed “AMG” and “Rubicon”.
The production of this Éxodo tour was a stark contrast from his previous Doble P Tour. From the stage design to the use of backup dancers to the lighting and more specifically the camera work, everything was top tier when it came to the production. More specifically the fact that the entire show was divided into sections that were narrated and would transition into the next set of songs creating this story that was perfectly crafted by Peso Pluma. After playing more upbeat Corrido Tumbados, Peso Pluma slowed down the vibe to serenade the crowd to “LUNA” a slow ballad that features Junior H, another superstar in the Mexican Music Scene. After Peso Pluma transitioned to another slow song “LAGUANAS” to which Jasiel Nuñez came out to perform with Peso Pluma. The crowd was enjoying every moment as both of them crooned the entire crowd.
That section of the show ended and transitioned into the next section which brought the Reggaeton Party to San Diego. Peso Pluma performed some of his biggest hits in the Raeggeton genre from “QUEMA” with Ryan Castro & SOG to “QLONA” with KAROL G and on the next song fellow Mexican Raeggeton Artist, Yng Lvcas came out and performed their chart topping hit, “La Bebe” which had Peso Pluma hop on the remix of. Peso Pluma had made it a tradition to bring out a couple of special guests at most of his stops on tour. This time in San Diego Peso Pluma brought out Houston Rapper, Don Toliver to which he performed “Bandit”, “After Party” and “Lemonade”. Although both artists may exist in two different realms of the music industry, the crowd seemed to enjoy the different change in vibe in the middle of the show. Peso Pluma ended that section of the show and went back to performing more Corridos bringing out Hector Rubio & Jasiel Nuñez again, along with Darey Castro.
A special moment of the show was when Peso Pluma called three fans from up in the stands to come down all the way to the front of the pit so that they could sing with him. After that moment, Peso Pluma told the entire crowd that moments like this are the reason he enjoys fame. Saying that it’s not about the fame, the money or the drugs and that it’s the passionate fans the reason he enjoys the lifestyle he has. A humble moment for a major superstar at the top of his game at the moment. The surprises did just stop there as the show reached the end. With one last surprise guest in Gabito Ballesteros, who came out to perform “LADY GAGA” with Peso Pluma. That brought the Éxodo tour to a conclusion, capitalizing an incredible night in San Diego at the Pechanga Arena. Peso Pluma delivered a phenomenal night of Mexican music by highlighting some of the legends that came before him and putting on a show for everyone to enjoy. With a few dates still remaining on the Éxodo Tour, it is definitely one shouldn’t miss.
