Peso Pluma @ Acrisure Arena Palm Desert, CA
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Peso Pluma has taken the Latin music world by storm, particularly within the Mexican music scene. The young superstar first made history with “Ella Baila Sola”, a collaboration with Eslabon Armado that became the first regional Mexican song to crack the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 4. This success catapulted him into the global spotlight, leading to heightened anticipation for his Éxodo album, following the phenomenal reception of Génesis .
After a standout performance at Coachella earlier this year, Peso Pluma announced his Éxodo tour, which kicked off this summer and will continue through the fall across the United States. On September 5th, he brought the much-anticipated tour to Palm Desert’s Acrisure Arena, a growing hub for Latin artists, with future performances scheduled from the likes of Ivan Cornejo, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Firme, and Shakira.
From the moment the lights dimmed and the haunting intro began, it was clear that the Éxodo tour was set to be something special. Peso Pluma emerged dramatically from beneath the stage, sitting on a throne with a ski mask on, as the opening notes of “La Durango” played. His backup dancers dressed in all black with glowing red eyes stormed the stage, and the arena exploded with excitement. Fireworks lit up the background, and when Peso Pluma finally revealed his face, the crowd erupted in cheers. He launched into “AMG” and “Rubicon”, hyping the audience right from the start.
The show’s production was a standout feature. The camera work was particularly impressive, creating an eerie, cinematic feel that made it seem as if we were watching a late-night thriller unfold. The backup dancers were also a surprising yet welcome addition, an element rarely seen in Corrido performances, showing Peso Pluma’s desire to push creative boundaries. The stage design, lighting, and pyrotechnics were top-tier, transforming the concert into an out of this world experience.
One of the highlights was the versatility Peso Pluma displayed throughout the night. He effortlessly transitioned from slow ballads to upbeat, high-energy tracks, seamlessly blending reggaeton, corrido tumbado, and traditional Mexican music. During the performance, Peso Pluma brought out Jasiel Nuñez and together they performed fan favorites “Lagunas” and “Bipolar”.
One unforgettable moment came during “Plebada”, his collaboration with Dominican legend El Alfa. As the arena turned a fiery red, pyrotechnics shot flames into the air, perfectly capturing the explosive energy of the song. Continuing his tradition of surprise guests, Peso Pluma brought out Ty Dolla $ign for this Palm Desert show. The bilingual crowd was thrilled as Ty Dolla $ign performed “Carnival” and “Paranoid”, a refreshing sight to see the blend of hip-hop and Latin music for the night.
As the night progressed, Peso Pluma performed hits like “El Gavilan 1 & 2”, “La People 1 & 2”, and “PRC”, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top performers in Latin music today. In a touching moment of homage, the screens displayed images of legendary Mexican artists who paved the way for the genre, including Chalino Sanchez, Joan Sebastian, Jenni Rivera, and Valentin Elizalde. Peso Pluma also honored the modern artist continuing the wave of regional Mexican music, showing images of Eslabon Armado, Junior H, Natanael Cano, Luis R. Conriquez, and himself.
As the concert came to a close, Peso Pluma saved some of his biggest hits for last, performing “Lady Gaga”, “La Patrulla”, and “Vino Tinto”. The audience roared with excitement, singing along to every word and savoring the final moments of the night.
Peso Pluma’s performance at the Acrisure Arena was nothing short of spectacular. The Éxodo tour proves that he is not only a rising star but also a global sensation, whose versatility as an artist continues to redefine the Latin music landscape. With every performance, Peso Pluma shows that he is a legend in the making, elevating his status and leaving audiences eager for more.
As his tour continues, one thing is clear, Peso Pluma is now a must-see artist, and the Acrisure Arena has cemented itself as a go-to venue for the biggest names in Latin music.
